HEWITT - The Temple Wildcat Track & Field team participated in four events on Thursday's Area Meet held at Midway High School on Thursday day. Junior Xavier Tools had the top performance for the Wildcats as he advanced to next weeks Regional Meet in the 800 meters.
Tools punched his ticket to the Regional Meet by taking 3rd Place in the 800 meters while running a time of 1:59.41, just shy of second place Carson Darling of Copperas Cove with a time of 1:58.89.
The Wildcats also competed in a pair of relays which both teams coming up short of qualifying for regionals. The 4x100 relay team took 6th Place in a time of 41.90 while the 4x400 relay placed 8th overall with a time of 3:24.97.
Senior O'Ryan Peoples represented the Wildcats in the long jump where he placed 8th with a jump of 20'11 1/4.
Tools will attempt to advance to the UIL State Meet as he will compete in the Regional Meet on Friday back at Panther Stadium in Hewitt.
