Without any prior knowledge and with only a quick glance, one might think Temple seniors Dederick Colbert and De’Audre Colbert are identical twins. Varsity backups last year, both are productive first-year starting linebackers, have similar faces and work part-time jobs at Raising Cane’s.

Take a closer look, though, and eventually it becomes apparent the 18-year-old Colberts are fraternal twins who have some notable differences.

At 5-foot-10 and 198 pounds, middle linebacker De’Audre is larger than 5-9, 180-pound outside linebacker Dederick. Meanwhile, Dederick is a faster runner and the older twin by one minute. He’s the one who still wears braces, and his hairstyle is similar to De’Audre’s but features blond highlights.

De’Audre, who still plays saxophone, and Dederick, who used to play clarinet, aren’t above having some fun with folks who aren’t in the know.
