Temple’s Scott succeeding as a linebacker after move from offense

When the topic of conversation is Temple senior linebacker Adrian Scott, perhaps the biggest compliment head coach Scott Stewart and defensive coordinator Thomas Rocco can give is that they’d gladly take more players just like him.

And what’s not to like about the 5-foot-10, 215-pound Scott, who might be the strongest Wildcats player pound-for-pound?

After making a team-leading eight tackles — four for losses — in Temple’s 19-14 win at San Antonio Reagan last Friday, the first-year starting weakside linebacker ranks second on the Wildcats defense with 22 stops, 13 unassisted.

As for his versatility and team-first attitude, Scott overcame an opening-game knee injury last year by switching from running back to fullback and earning first-team All-District 12-6A recognition.
