Temple junior Guerra growing into dominant blocker for Wildcats

Quiet and reserved by nature, Isaiah Guerra would rather get his work done than talk much about it.

The Temple junior and second-year starting left guard reported to a midday interview Wednesday wearing the navy blue uniform — his last name in italics across the right chest — from automotive technology, his favorite class. For Guerra, a balanced schedule includes balancing the tires of a customer’s vehicle inside Temple’s Career & Technical Education Center.

However, it’s another uniform in which Guerra attracts significantly more attention.

At 6-foot-5 and 320 pounds and with aspirations of playing at Texas and in the NFL, Guerra has only scratched the surface of how good he can become wearing the Wildcats’ blue-front, white-back pants.
