When Temple played San Antonio Pieper two weeks ago, Eric Shelly’s final two carries in regulation gained 18 and 19 yards, giving the Wildcats junior running back 193 yards and a 34-yard touchdown on 22 rushes.
“It felt great,” he said. “After the first few touches, I started getting into a rhythm and just doing everything right and seeing the end zone.”
After Temple senior cornerback A’Xavion LaTouche intercepted a pass in the end zone to start the overtime period, there wasn’t much mystery as to what head coach and offensive play-caller Chad President wanted to do when the Wildcats got their possession.
