When Temple battles Copperas Cove to begin District 12-6A competition at 7 p.m. Friday at Wildcat Stadium, expect plenty of motivation on both sidelines.

Temple is hungry to prove it’s a much better team than its 1-3 non-district record indicates. Coach Chad President’s Wildcats are determined to respond after they were thoroughly outplayed in a 53-14 loss at high-powered Hutto last Friday. They want to put up more resistance after allowing 49-plus points in three consecutive games.

Temple desires to produce a successful 12-6A start after having to fight back from an 0-2 league mark last season to advance to the Class 6A Division I playoffs. And the Wildcats certainly want to prevail for their supporters on homecoming.
