SAN MARCOS — On Friday morning, the Temple High Junior Varsity Boys Cross Country team faced their toughest challenge of the season at the Hays ISD Cross Country Invitational, held at the 5 Mile Dam Soccer Complex in San Marcos. Featuring a dense field of over 260 runners from across Central and South Texas, this meet marked the largest and most talented collection of athletes the Wildcats have lined up against so far this year.

Top Individual Leaders

At the front of the massive pack, freshman Lukas Bergman of Georgetown East View claimed the top spot in the 5,000-meter race, crossing the line first with a time of 17:09.00. Victor Gonzales of Converse Judson followed in second place at 17:16.00, while San Antonio Johnson's Davien Airhart placed third with a time of 17:40.00.

Temple Wildcat Performances

The Wildcats showed grit in a fast-paced environment, working together to push through the rigorous 5K course. Senior Cristobal Hernandez led the way for Temple, securing the team's top finish by stopping the clock at 22:04.00.
