Although Braylin Carr was only 5 years old at the time, he distinctly remembers watching Temple football games throughout the 2014 season as the Wildcats made a stirring run to the Class 5A Division I state championship game.
Two outstanding players for that team were quarterback Chad President, now Temple’s second-year head coach, and prolific running back Jeff Carr, a relative of Braylin’s. In addition, Braylin Carr’s father, Daniel Carr, was a skilled running back for the Wildcats’ playoff squads in 2007 and 2008.
“I’m Wildcat-born. I went to all the playoff games and the state game. Every home game and every away game, I was there. I used to watch Jeff and Coach President play,” Braylin recalled Tuesday as Temple (0-1) prepared for its home opener against Round Rock (0-1) at 7:30 tonight at Wildcat Stadium.
