When Temple right guard Bradley Fillmore earned second-team recognition on the All-District 12-6A team last December, he was listed at 6-foot-1 and 275 pounds. The Wildcats preview in this year’s Texas Football magazine puts him at 6 feet and 285 pounds.

The third-year varsity starter who’s seeking a third straight Class 6A Division I playoff trip offered an honest accounting this week of his current dimensions: 5-10, 244 pounds.

Fillmore recalled weighing 287 shortly after he placed 12th in the 6A 308-pound division with a 1,450-pound total at the powerlifting state meet in late March. Between wanting to feel better physically and remain in the good graces of his football coaches, he immediately committed to cleaning up his diet through intermittent fasting and swapping fast food (McDonald’s specifically), chips and sugary juices for grilled chicken, fish, fruit and water.
