TEMPLE, TX — Running on their home turf Friday morning, the Temple High Varsity Boys Cross Country team faced off against a competitive 11-team field at the Pro-Fit Invitational, hosted at James Wilson Park. Demonstrating strong depth across the 3-mile course, the Wildcats secured a 6th-place overall finish with 137 team points.

Temple Wildcat Individual Highlights

Junior Joe Vargas led the charge for Temple, delivering a stellar run to break into the Top 15. Vargas crossed the finish line in 17:35.50, placing 13th overall to set the pace for the Wildcats.

Joining Vargas in the Top 20 was senior Roberto Borbonio Cavazos, who claimed 19th place with a solid time of 18:08.32. Freshmen runner Easton Williams finished just outside the Top 20, clocking in at 18:09.77 to take 21st place and bolster Temple’s top three runners.
