TEMPLE, TX — Running on their home turf Friday morning, the Temple High Varsity Girls Cross Country team delivered strong performances at the Pro-Fit Invitational held at Wilson Park.
The Tem-Cats were spearheaded by sophomore standout Azaria Staples, who charged through the 3-mile course to place 5th overall with a time of 19:36.18. Staples was joined in the Top 20 by teammate Ilana Desales, as the junior clocked in at 20:28.49 to grab 13th place overall.
Together, the duo anchored the Tem-Cat squad as Temple finished 6th overall in the team standings with 140 points.

Salado Dominates Individual and Team Leaderboards
Salado took command of the meet early, locking down four of the top five individual spots to claim the overall team title with a score of 16 points. Freshman Isabel Motley took individual gold with a blistering time of 18:13.32, closely followed by junior teammate McCall Boyd.
