TEMPLE, TX — The eyes of Central Texas will be on Temple High School this week as the elite athletes of District 12-6A descend upon Wildcat Stadium for the 2026 Track & Field Championships. The two-day meet, scheduled for April 8th and 9th, promises a high-stakes showcase of speed, strength, and endurance as competitors vie for district glory and a spot in the post-season.
Day 1: Strength and Strategy (Wednesday, April 8)

After the track opens for relay handoffs in the mid-afternoon, the Running Prelims for Varsity athletes begin at 4:00 PM. These heats—ranging from the high hurdles to the 200M dash—will determine who earns the right to compete in Thursday’s finals.
Day 2: The Race for Gold (Thursday, April 9)
Thursday shifts the energy exclusively to the track for the Running Finals. Following the National Anthem at 4:55 PM, the session ignites at 5:00 PM with the explosive 4x100M Relay.

5:30 PM - 5:45 PM: 100M/110M Hurdles
6:00 PM: 100M Dash
