Wildcats JV Secure Silver in Hard-Fought Killeen ISD Relays

KILLEEN – The Temple Wildcat junior varsity track and field team put on a dominant display of speed and athleticism this past Thursday at Leo Buckley Stadium. In a high-stakes showdown at the Killeen ISD Relays, the Wildcats battled their way to a 2nd Place team finish, racking up an impressive 146 points.
While Harker Heights took the top spot with 184 points, Temple’s depth allowed them to edge out Killeen Shoemaker (142 points) for the runner-up trophy.

Top Performers and Gold Medalists

The Wildcats were untouchable in the relay events and the sprints. Bradyn Williams emerged as a standout star of the meet, capturing gold in both the 100 meters (11.30) and the 200 meters (23.14).

Temple also asserted its dominance in the relays, taking 1st Place in both the 4x100 (42.79) and the 4x200 (1:30.69). The field events saw another golden moment as Anthony Abney cleared 10’0 to take the top spot in the Pole Vault.

Silver and Bronze Medalists

Temple’s podium presence was bolstered by several Silver and Bronze performances that kept the point total climbing:

Silver Medalists (2nd Place): Landon Walker (400m), Mehkai Armstrong (Triple Jump), and Marcus Lee (Pole Vault).

Bronze Medalists (3rd Place): Darrius Love (300m hurdles), Teiaurione Thomas (Discus), Elijah Shotkoski (Pole Vault), Landon Walker (Triple Jump), and the 4x400 Relay team.

What's Next?

The Wildcats will look to carry this momentum into the postseason as they host the District 12-6A Track & Field Championships. The meet will take place on April 8th and 9th right here at Wildcat Stadium in Temple.
