TEMPLE, TX — For the first time since 2022, the Temple Tem-Cat soccer program is headed to the postseason. The drought is officially over as Temple prepares to represent District 12-6A in the opening round of the 2026 UIL State Playoffs.

The Tem-Cats will travel to Ennis High School this Friday, March 20th, to face off against the Mesquite Skeeters in a high-stakes Bi-District matchup.

The Matchup at a Glance

Temple enters the tournament as the 3rd seed out of District 12-6A. After a grueling regular season, the Tem-Cats found their rhythm when it mattered most, finishing district play with a winning 6-5-1 record to secure their spot in the brackets.

They face a Mesquite squad that claimed the 4th seed out of District 11-6A. While Mesquite holds a slightly better overall record, the postseason often rewards the team playing with the most momentum—and Temple’s return to the big stage after four years provides plenty of motivation.

Match Day Logistics

The contest is part of a playoff double-header hosted at Ennis High School. Fans planning to make the trip should note that the stadium is operating under a digital-only ticketing policy.
