COPPERAS COVE – In a physical District 12-6A showdown on Tuesday night, the Temple Tem-Cats traveled to Bulldawg Stadium and walked away with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Copperas Cove.

The match was a defensive chess match punctuated by moments of individual brilliance, leaving Temple with a 5-5-1 record in district play as the regular season draws to a close.

Mitchan Strikes Early

Temple set the tone early in the first half, controlling much of the pace and finding gaps in the Lady Dawgs' backline. The pressure paid off in the 29th minute when Bella Mitchan found the back of the net to give the Tem-Cats a 1-0 lead.

Mitchan’s clinical finish wasn't just the team's only goal; her constant work rate and leadership on the pitch earned her Player of the Match honors.

Defensive Stand

The second half saw Copperas Cove ramp up the intensity. While the Lady Dawgs eventually found the equalizer to knot the game at 1-1, Temple’s defense remained stout under heavy fire.

Goalkeeper Skylar Licudine was instrumental in securing the point for Temple. Licudine recorded 5 saves on the night, including two crucial stops in the closing minutes to prevent a late Cove comeback.

The Tem-Cats now turn their focus to the final match of the regular season. It will be an emotional night at the Temple Soccer Complex as the program honors its graduating class.
