BRYAN, TX – The Temple Wildcat Junior Varsity Blue soccer team faced a tough road test on Friday evening, dropping a hard-fought contest to the Bryan Vikings at Merrill Breen Stadium. Despite a gritty defensive effort, the Wildcats couldn’t find the back of the net, falling 2-0 to a clinical Bryan squad.

The loss shifts Temple’s season record to 4-3-3, while the Vikings continue their impressive run, improving to 7-2-1.

Match Breakdown

From the opening whistle, the Vikings utilized their home-field advantage, controlling much of the tempo and testing the Temple backline early. While the Wildcat defense held firm through several waves of pressure, Bryan managed to break the deadlock and secure a two-goal cushion that Temple simply couldn't overcome.

Temple’s midfield worked tirelessly to transition into the attack, but the Vikings' organized defense proved difficult to dismantle. The Wildcats created a few late opportunities to narrow the gap, but the final whistle blew before they could capitalize.

The Road Ahead: Home Finale

With only two games remaining in the regular season, the Wildcats must shake off this road loss quickly as they prepare for a critical District 12-6A rematch.

Temple will return to the Temple Soccer Complex on March 3 to host the Copperas Cove Bulldawgs. This matchup carries extra weight—not only is it the final home game of the season, but it serves as a tiebreaker of sorts. The two teams played to a 1-1 draw in their first meeting of the season.

Match Details:

Opponent: Copperas Cove
Date: Tuesday, March 3
Time: 5:45 PM
Location: Temple Soccer Complex

The Wildcats will be looking to leverage the home-crowd energy to secure three points and gain momentum heading into the season finale.
