KILLEEN — The Temple Tem-Cat junior varsity soccer team delivered a clinical performance on the road Tuesday evening, shutting out Killeen High 4-0 at Leo Buckley Stadium. Behind a potent offensive attack and a rock-solid defensive effort, the Tem-Cats controlled the tempo from the opening whistle to the final horn.

Offensive Fireworks

The story of the night was Yuridia Rodriguez, who proved to be an unstoppable force for the Temple attack. Rodriguez found the back of the net three times, securing a hat trick and keeping the Killeen defense on their heels throughout the match.

She wasn't alone in the scoring column, however. Ellis Vriseno played a pivotal role in the victory, contributing a well-placed goal of her own while also providing a key assist to help fuel the scoring surge.

Total Pitch Control

While the goals grabbed the headlines, the backbone of the victory was the consistent play of Delilah Lara. Named the Player of the Match, Lara was everywhere for the Tem-Cats. Her "front to back" performance stabilized the midfield and ensured the shutout remained intact, effectively neutralizing any counter-attacks Killeen attempted to mount.

Looking Ahead

With the momentum of a clean sheet and a four-goal outburst, the Tem-Cats (now looking ahead to their home pitch) will turn their attention to a powerhouse matchup later this week.

Opponent: Bryan Lady Vikings
Date: Friday, February 27
Location: Temple Soccer Complex
Kickoff: 5:15 PM

The Temple faithful are encouraged to come out and support the JV squad as they look to keep this winning streak alive against Bryan.
