The Temple Wildcat Junior Varsity Blue soccer team continued their steady climb in the district standings Tuesday evening, grinding out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Killeen High at the Temple Soccer Complex.
In a match defined by physical play and tactical patience, the Wildcats (4-2-3 in district) relied on a singular moment of brilliance to separate themselves from a resilient Killeen squad.
Diaz Delivers the Difference
The scoreless stalemate was finally broken when Andrew Diaz found the back of the net. Diaz’s goal proved to be the only offense Temple would need, as the Wildcat backline remained organized and disciplined throughout the second half to stifle any hopes of a Killeen comeback.
While Killeen (1-5-4) fought desperately to find an equalizer in the closing minutes, the Temple defense held firm, securing the clean sheet and three crucial points in the district race.

The Vikings enter the contest with a formidable 6-2-1 record, making this a pivotal test for Temple’s momentum. The Wildcats will need to bring the same defensive intensity to Merrill Green Stadium if they hope to upset the Vikings on their home turf.
