WACO, TX – The Temple Tem-Cat golf team braved the fairways of Cottonwood Creek Golf Course this past Friday and Saturday, delivering a gritty performance at the Waco ISD Invitational. Competing against a deep field, the Tem-Cats showcased their resilience over 36 holes to secure a 6th-place team finish.
Team Standings
The tournament saw a heated battle at the top of the leaderboard, with Midway High School ultimately surging ahead to take the title. Temple held their ground in the middle of a competitive pack, finishing the two-day event with a total score of 767.
1st Place: Midway – Round 1: 347 | Round 2: 328 | Total: 675 (+40)
2nd Place: Leander Rouse – Round 1: 340 | Round 2: 341 | Total: 681 (+53)

Individual Highlights
The Tem-Cats were led by a balanced effort, with several golfers navigating the challenging Cottonwood Creek layout to land high in the individual standings.
Sarah Hermann (19th Place): Leading the way for Temple, Hermann carded a 90 in the opening round and finished with a two-day total of 185 (+23).
Auri Enriquez (23rd Place): Enriquez posted the team's lowest single-round score of the tournament with an impressive 87 on day one, finishing with a total of 187 (+28).
Marysol Cabral (31st Place): Cabral showed great poise, following up her opening 97 with a 97 in round two to finish at 194 (+25).
Addyson Bates (36th Place): Bates remained consistent throughout the weekend, recording a 99 in Round 1 and a 102 in Round 2 for a total of 201 (+30).
Landry Shelton: Shelton rounded out the varsity effort, finishing with a tournament total of 236.
Looking Ahead
The Tem-Cats will look to carry this momentum into their next outing on March 11 at the Collin Clark Invitational. The team will travel to the Delaware Springs Golf Course, aiming to sharpen their short games and climb even higher up the leaderboard.
