KILLEEN, TX – The Temple Tem-Cat junior varsity soccer team put on an absolute clinic Friday evening, dismantling the Killeen Shoemaker Lady Greywolves in a commanding 8-0 road victory.
The Tem-Cats showcased a relentless offensive attack and a suffocating defense, leaving no doubt about who controlled the pitch from the opening whistle.
Offensive Fireworks
Temple wasted little time establishing dominance, netting three goals in the first half to set a comfortable pace. However, the floodgates truly opened after the break, as the Tem-Cats piled on another five goals in the second half to seal the blowout.
The scoring effort was led by a standout performance from Yuridia Rodriguez, who found the back of the net four times. The offensive onslaught was rounded out by a pair of braces:
Yuridia Rodriguez: 4 goals
Elli Vriseno: 2 goals
Delilah Lara: 2 goals
Brick Wall Defense
While the strikers grabbed the headlines, the Temple defense and goalkeeping core were equally impressive. Goaltenders Aubrey Magnus and Claire Snider combined for the clean sheet, ensuring the Lady Greywolves never found a rhythm in their attacking third.
For her exceptional playmaking and control of the game, MeKayla Devila was named the Player of the Match.
