TEMPLE, TX – The Temple Wildcat JV Blue soccer team delivered a clinical performance on Friday evening, securing a commanding 3-0 victory over the Killeen Shoemaker Greywolves at the Temple Soccer Complex.

From the opening whistle, the Wildcats showcased a fluid offensive rhythm and a stifling defense that left the Greywolves searching for answers. The win moves Temple to a solid 3-1-3 record in District 12-6A play, keeping them firmly in the hunt as the season progresses.

Scoring Summary

The Wildcats' victory was a masterclass in teamwork, with three different players finding the back of the net, each supported by well-timed assists:

Goal 1: Anthony Maldonado opened the scoring for the Wildcats, capitalizing on a precise pass from Giovanni Nava-Cisneros.

Goal 2: Giovanni Nava-Cisneros turned from playmaker to finisher, slotting home the second goal thanks to a setup from Andres Lopez Guerrero.

Goal 3: Andres Martinez Maldonado capped off the evening with the final goal, assisted by Cesar Perez.

Defensive Prowess

While the offense provided the fireworks, the Wildcat backline was equally impressive. By maintaining a clean sheet, Temple frustrated Shoemaker’s counter-attacking efforts and ensured the Greywolves never gained a foothold in the match. The communication between the midfield and the defensive unit allowed Temple to dictate the tempo of the game from start to finish.

Looking Ahead

The Wildcats will enjoy a well-deserved bye this coming Tuesday, giving the squad time to recover and refine their tactics.

Temple returns to action on Friday, February 20, as they hit the road to face off against the Midway Panthers in Hewitt. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:45 PM.
