The two biggest schools in the area will officially share a district in the near future.
As expected, Temple and Lake Belton were placed in the same football, basketball and volleyball district Monday when the University Interscholastic League unveiled the new statewide arrangement during its biennial reclassification and realignment.
The freshly-announced districts will stay in place from fall 2026 until spring 2028. Other sports’ groupings will be disclosed by the UIL in the spring.
The Wildcats and Broncos will compete in District 12-6A, which they will share with Bryan, Copperas Cove, Harker Heights, Hewitt Midway and Killeen Chaparral.
