Wildcats Dominate the Court: Tennis Teams Look Strong at Harker Heights Tournaments

HARKER HEIGHT: It was a banner week for the Wildcat tennis program as the Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity squads descended on Harker Heights, bringing home a mountain of hardware and a statement-making performance. Across three days of intense competition, the Wildcats proved they are the team to beat this season.

Varsity: A Masterclass in Excellence

On Thursday, January 22, the Varsity team put on a clinic, securing top honors across multiple divisions. Preston Myers led the charge, capturing 1st place in Boys Singles, while the duo of Steven Jones and Kevin Jie dominated the Boys Doubles bracket to take the title.

The winning streak continued on the girls' side, with Sirrah Stephens and Samantha Lopez clinching 1st place in Girls Doubles. The depth of the Varsity roster was on full display with several other podium finishes:

The success wasn't limited to the top tier. The Junior Varsity team also competed on Thursday, showcasing the program's incredible depth:

The week kicked off on Tuesday, January 20, with the Freshman tournament, where the youngest Wildcats set a high bar for the days to follow:

What’s Next?

The Wildcats will look to carry this massive momentum into next week. The Varsity team is back in action on January 30 as they travel to compete in the Pflugerville Tournament. If this week was any indication, the rest of the district should be on high alert.
