The Temple Wildcats certainly produced a strong season in 2025, compiling a 7-4 record with first-year head coach Chad President and earning the tradition-rich program’s 13th playoff berth in 15 years.

However, the prominent theme of Temple’s football banquet Wednesday night in the high school auditorium wasn’t as much about the Wildcats’ success as it was the commitment, teamwork and resiliency that was required to achieve it.

Senior safety and special teams ace Xavier Wilson recovered from a blood clot on his spleen last summer to become an important player. Senior quarterback Champ Mayo suffered a significant collarbone injury in Temple’s second game but returned to aid the Wildcats’ playoff charge.
