WKILLEEN – The Temple Wildcat junior varsity white soccer team kicked off District 12-6A play in impressive fashion on Tuesday evening, securing a gritty 2-0 victory over the Killeen Shoemaker Greywolves.
The Wildcats controlled the tempo early, utilizing a disciplined defensive line and quick transitions to keep the Greywolves on their heels. The breakthrough came midway through the contest when Dario Luna-Lebron found the back of the net, finishing a well-placed assist from Francisco Aguirre to give Temple the 1-0 lead.
Tightening the Grip
Temple refused to sit back after the opening goal. The insurance strike came later in the match courtesy of Tyler Knight, who showcased his precision on a set piece. Knight buried a spectacular free kick, doubling the Wildcat lead and effectively sealing the road win.
The shutout victory marks a perfect start to the district campaign, highlighting both the offensive chemistry between Luna-Lebron and Aguirre and the individual brilliance of Knight’s striking ability.
