After picking up a pair of wins Thursday at the Wildcat Kickoff Classic, Temple wanted to ride that momentum to a third straight victory.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the wear and tear of playing three matches in about 24 hours created a slow start that couldn’t be overcome as Temple fell to Waco La Vega 2-0 on a windy Friday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.

“I thought we came out a little slow and I thought La Vega did a good job of setting the tone of the game, and it took us a bit to get going,” Temple head coach Matthew Corley said. “I don’t know if it was just from playing two games yesterday or just not being prepared, but it’s stuff we can work on.”
