Two weeks ago at Bryan, Temple senior Q’Terrius White rushed for two 1-yard touchdowns to help the Wildcats win 31-14. In last Friday’s must-win clash with Copperas Cove, White passed to Preston Thomas for a 2-point conversion to aid Temple’s runaway 32-0 victory at Wildcat Stadium.

If you’re thinking that White probably is a quarterback or a running back, well, think again. At 6-foot-2 and 320 pounds, he’s actually the Wildcats’ starting left guard on a formidable offensive line.

Confined to traditional lineman duties in Temple’s first seven games, White — inspired by Alabama’s usage of 6-7, 366-pound lineman Kadyn Proctor as an unexpected ball carrier — finally persuaded head coach and offensive play-caller Chad President to give him an opportunity to handle the football.
