Temple looks to bounce back versus Killeen

Considering that Temple built positive momentum and optimism by going 4-0 in non-district play, an 0-2 start in District 12-6A competition certainly doesn’t match what the Wildcats had expected and hoped for.

Three weeks ago, Temple lost its 12-6A opener 31-28 at home to Killeen Shoemaker on a field goal as time expired. Last Friday, the visiting Wildcats — coming off their open week — neither produced enough offense nor contained Hewitt Midway’s potent rushing attack as the disciplined Panthers beat them 27-7.

Knowing that Shoemaker and Midway are talented teams projected to finish near the top of the 12-6A standings, Temple is far from being in panic mode with four league games remaining.
