COPPERAS COVE - The Temple Wildcat baseball team dropped their second straight one run game to Coppers Cove on Tuesday evening as the Bulldawgs rallied from a 4-1 deficit to defeat Temple 5-4.
Temple built a 3-0 lead in the first and led 4-1 in the third. However, the bottom of the third saw Copperas Cove knot the score at 4-4, a score that would hold until the seventh when the Bulldawgs leadoff runner walked and scored on a 2-out wild pitch.
Temple was limited to three hits as Cisco Gonzales was 1-3,run scored; Xavier Tools 1-2, run scored and Isaac Lara 1-4.
Isaac Lara started started for Temple and went 5.0 innings giving up 4 runs on 4 hits, 5 walks and 2 strikeouts. Jacob Perez took the loss going 1 2/3 inning giving up 1 run on zero hits and 1 walk.
Temple will return to play on Thursday when they will host Harker Heights at Hallford Field beginning at 7:00 pm.
