KILLEEN - The Wildcat baseball team used a pair of five run innings to erase a 6-1 deficit and defeat the Killeen Chaparral Bobcats by a score of 12-10 on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing 6-1 going to the fourth, Temple put together their first five run out burst with a Reece Medrano RBI single, Anthony Ramos RBI double, Xavier Tools 2 RBI triple and a Jaden Fuentes sac fly.
The bottom of the fourth saw the Bobcats regain a 7-6 lead until the sixth when Temple rallied again.
In the sixth, Temple pushed across five more runs on a Lezlie Jackson RBI triple, Isaac Lara RBI double, Champ Mayo RBI single and an Anthony Ramos RBI single to pit Temple up 11-7.
In the seventh, Lezlie Jackson's RBI double scored Xavier Tools who led off the inning with a single.
Chaparral would try to rally back wit three runs in the seventh, but Jacob Perez struck out M. Schubert to end the game at 12-10.
Temple picked up 16 hits on the afternoon with Reece Medrano going 4-4 with an RBI; Lezlie Jackson 3-3 2 doubles, triple, 2 RBI; Anthony Ramos 3-4, 2 doubles, 2 RBI; Xavier Tools 2-5, 2 RBI , triple; Jaden Fuentes 2-4, RBI; Champ Mayo 1-1, RBI and Isaac Lara 1-4, RBI.
Isaac Lara picked up the win going 4 2/3 innings giving up 3 earned runs on seven hots and Jacob Perez with 1/3 innings of a work to get the save.
Temple 4-12-1 returns to action on Tuesday at Midway with first pitch set for 7:00 pm.
