The Wildcat baseball team dropped a pair of games on the opening day of the Langham Creek Tournament. Temple dropped a tight battle with College Station 2-1 before falling to Jersey Village by a score of 8-2.

In Game 1, pitching was exceptional for both teams with Champ Mayo going 5.0 innings for the Wildcats giving up zero earned runs on three hits and recording nine strikeouts.

The Wildcats could only muster three hits with Xavier Tools going 2-3 with an RBI and Champ Mayo was 1-3.

Game 2 saw the Wildcats fall to Jersey Village 8-2. Champ Mayo went 3-3 at the plate while Xavier Tools was 1-1 with a triple and RBI. Also collecting hits were Jacob Perez, Jaden Fuentes and Anthony Ramos.

Temple will try to rebound on Friday with a pair of games. Temple faces Langham Creek at 10:00 am and Cy Falls at 12:30 pm.
