KILLEEN - The Temple Wildcat varsity baseball team came into the sixth inning trailing 5-1 but rallied with a pair of runs in both the sixth and seventh innings. However, the Lions pushed across a single run in the sixth and held on to defeat the Wildcats 6-5 in the Killeen Tournament on Friday afternoon.
Temple picked up seven hits on the afternoon with Xavier Tools leading the way going 2-3 at the plate with a run scored. Cavalli Nealy went 1-3 with a double, RBI and run scored and Cisco Gonzales was 1-2 with a triple, RBI and run scored.
Jaden Fuentes took the loss going 6.0 innings and gave up 4 earned runs on 8 hits while striking out two.
Temple will close out the tournament on Saturday with a matchup with Lorena at 10:00 am and Leander Glenn at 12:30 pm.
