DEL VALLE - The Temple High School girls powerlifting team took home first place in the Region II Unequipped division of the Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association.
The Tem-Cats claimed title in dominating fashion with a team total of 39 points while second place Little River Academy had 23 points.
In the process the Tem-Cats had four athletes advance to this years state meet which will be held on March 13th at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg Texas.
Qualifying for state were Nani Rubio (123lb), Kaylin Wolf (198lb), Mariah Gaines (220lb) and Jazaria Clinton (242lb) divisions.
Nani Rubio also collected a pair of top individual honors as she was awarded THSWA Division I Region 2 Best Squat Light Platform and THSWA Division I Region 2 Bets Overall Lifter Light Platform.
