Windee Skrabanek, a native of Rogers, Texas, has dedicated more than 26 years to the athletic training profession and the health, safety, and well-being of student-athletes.

Windee attended Central College in McPherson, Kansas, where she competed in both volleyball and softball and earned her Associate of Arts degree in 1998. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree in 2001 and her Master of Education in Administration from Lamar University in 2013.

Windee began her career at Bastrop High School in January 2001 before joining Temple ISD, where she has proudly dedicated 23 years to serving the Temple Wildcats. Throughout her time at Temple, she has made a lasting impact on generations of student-athletes, students, families, coaches, and the community. She teaches Sports Medicine II and III and leads the Athletic Training Student Program.

Windee's commitment to student-athlete safety has earned recognition throughout her career. Following her lifesaving actions in March 2016, she was honored by the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association (SWATA) with the prestigious Excellence in Athletic Training Award. She has also been actively involved in advancing the athletic training profession, serving as Treasurer of the Central Texas Athletic Trainers Society (CTATS) from 2008–2010 and as the Temple/Killeen/Belton representative. From 2016–2018, she served on the SWATA Public Relations Committee, helping promote and advocate for the athletic training profession.

In 2026, Windee received another extraordinary national honor when Perry Weather named her the 2026 Athletic Trainer Excellence Award Winner. She was selected from more than 6,405 nominations nationwide, representing athletic trainers at every level of sport—from middle schools and high schools to collegiate and professional organizations. Her nominations came from former athletes, parents, colleagues, and community members whose lives she has impacted throughout more than two decades of service.

Beyond the awards and accomplishments, Windee's greatest impact can be seen in the countless student-athletes and athletic training students she has cared for, taught, encouraged, and mentored throughout her career.

Windee is married to Gary Skrabanek, an electrician with Amos Electric, and they are proud parents of their son, Kyler James. Outside of work, Windee enjoys attending athletic events, spending time outdoors, kayaking, and making memories with family and friends.
